The Falu red kiosk building, whose one long side is integrated with a long fence, separates the car park from the historic environment – the rolling grounds around Ornäsloftet. The thoughtful positioning also creates a new spatial context with the older building on the headland. The layout makes efficient use of the limited floorspace, with the interior housing many ingenious solutions. The exterior is intentionally low-key, managing a skilful balance between a humble acknowledgement of the location’s cultural significance and having its own presence. The building shows a great deal of expertise in wood construction.
